One of the best spots on SD.
JOY: (noun) You are four years old and on a walking outing with your nursery school class. You come to this bridge. One at a time, you run. Turn by turn, you RUN. Make it across! Hurry! As fast as your legs can carry you! Your pace thuds and thwacks with urgency, your steps like pointilism in an impressionist pepper tree canyon. You don’t know for sure if you’ll fall. You are pretty sure you will make it to the other side. Because Lucas and Jessica and Nola and Molly and David are all ahead of you. And they made it okay. This is the closest you have ever come to a pirate bridge in Neverland, or a tightrope, or the rooftops of London. There’s no rushing rapids below you, and there’s no need to hold on to the rail with both hands. But there is a need to get across. Because it’s a bridge. And it’s the best bridge in the world.
